Who we are.

Solibro AB is a company developing thin-film solar cells based on the compound semiconductor Cu(In,Ga)Se2 – also known as CIGS.

Solibro AB is a spin-off company from Ångström Solar Center, located in Uppsala/Sweden, where world-leading research on this kind of solar cells has been performed for many years.

One outstanding result of this research is the world's most efficient thin-film solar cell module. The module's efficiency has been confirmed by an independent, certified measurement laboratory to be 16.6 %.

This efficiency is at par with the most efficient commercial solar-cell modules based on crystalline silicon but can be produced at a much lower cost.

What we do.

The goal of Solibro AB is to become a world-leading producer of solar-cell modules. The first major task is to up-scale the processes used at Ångström Solar Center for their high performance CIGS modules to production.

The up-scaling is divided into two phases. In the first, which has been completed, the most critical production step was addressed. In the currently ongoing phase a complete production line is installed. First full-size modules will be fabricated in 2007.
